Student Self-Sufficiency Program

 Mercy Support Services exists to meet the needs of people experiencing circumstantial crisis and housing insecurity, including high school students who are 18 and older who do not have a fixed, stable home.  

The Goal: Empowering High School Students to Strive for Success

This program supports high school juniors and seniors who are homeless and seeking to receive their high school diploma.

 

Includes:

Stable Housing: A structured group home with Resident Assistants, private rooms, and basic furnishings.

Life Coaching & Mentorship: Weekly sessions to set and achieve goals.

Financial Literacy & Budgeting: Guidance on managing income and financial planning.

Employment & Career Support: Assistance in finding and maintaining part-time work.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be 18 years old and a full-time high school junior or senior.

Must actively seek employment if not working.

Must participate in weekly life coaching and follow an Individualized Success Plan.

Must comply with all program rules and guidelines.

 

Program Process:

Initial 90-Day Enrollment: Participants are assessed after 90 days, with reviews every 30 days until high school graduation.

Financial & Employment Accountability: Students submit pay stubs, bank statements, and employment search reports.

Regular Check-ins: MSS Life Coaches provide ongoing support to ensure progress toward self-sufficiency.
